About Our Tours

From the thrilling mix of ancient and modern life style in the buzzing city of Kathmandu to the moderate farmers' houses just below the majestic peaks of the Himalayan Range, our insider tours give you first-hand experience of the places you visit.

Authenticity: Our tours are not typical sightseeing excursions, instead we bring together travelers and country in a way that is beneficial to both. With our insider connections, you'll have the unusual opportunity to share meals with local people, visit their homes, and immerse yourself in their life and cultures.

Support of local initiatives: Wherever possible our tours are based around a series of community-managed projects. Partly these are sustainable tourism development projects. Tourism is for many regions of the country the only source of income besides agriculture. Other projects include initiatives founded by women for women, or projects which aim at improving local infrastructure (for example health or education). By working with these local projects, we are able to support the livelihoods of the people who need it - whether artisan cooperatives in Kathmandu, eco-tourism programs in the Annapurna region or a women's group in Eastern Nepal.

Relaxing: Traveling with Himalayan Vibes means first of all - following your own pace. By getting off the usual tourist track, your holiday will be truly relaxing. You can unwind in the midst of stunning scenery, whilst absorbing the sublime atmosphere and generosity of local people. We'll guide you when you need guidance and leave you in peace, when you need peace.

Child friendly: We are parents ourselves and love taking families with children on our trips. Our tours are arranged to be child-friendly, which is not difficult in a country as child-friendly as Nepal: children are always and everywhere in the center of interest. However, we developed tours especially for families with young children, for the small ones have their own desires and speed.

Activities: Folk music and dance, bird watching and forest walks - We'll take things at your pace, and arrange itineraries based on your preferences. Among other things, there'll be the chance for traditional fishing, forest walks, elefant rides, bonfires, river baths, rafting, farm works, getting enganged with arts and crafts, sun bathing, yoga and massage, meditation, shopping, cooking and lots of relaxing.

Accomodation: Village homes to luxurious mansions - You'll have the chance to stay in luxurious mansions, traditional mud huts, tents in the forests, homely guest houses, old palaces, and as a guest in village homes. Accommodation is selected to suit your needs.

Wonderful food: Your hosts will prepare delicious home-cooked food and fresh fruits. Much of the fruit and vegetables are grown locally and, whereever possible, organically.

Transportation: We provide cars, but also take you on planes (if your timetable is limited), buses, horses, bicycles and taxis.

All what you need: Although based around specific community-based projects, our tours are customized to meet your preferences and pace. We are glad to develop your individual itenary together with you.

  • Our program facilitators are multi-lingusitic people with a broad knowledge about our home-country Nepal's history, culture, religions and life-styles. We give them additional training in tourist guiding and presentation skills. They carefully moderate the exchange between our guests and local actors.

  • Our trekking guides spent their entire life in the mountains of Nepal: they know their respective areas like the inside of their pocket. They guide our individual guests and groups safely and joyful through their home areas.

  • Our employee and support staffs are highly motivated, professional and service oriented.

Quality and affordability: our prices reflect the quality of the experience you will encounter, our use of skilled local guides, a highly personalized service, and the support we give to local projects.
